A fundamental change is taking
place as to the way in which voice traffic is
transported. The traditional circuit switched
technology which has served telephone systems for
several decades is now being superseded by Voice over
IP telephony (VOIP). The impact of this change is
important to most organisations and the possible
implications and benefits are discussed within the
